Multithreading with agents: more than one contact per deal
The champion is excited, the proposal is out – and then they change jobs, or finance asks questions nobody prepared for. Single-threaded deals die quietly. Multithreading is well known, but it takes effort. That's where agents come in.

Why one contact isn't enough
Complex B2B purchases almost always involve several people, often from different functions. Each has their own criteria: leadership asks about impact, finance about cost and risk, IT about security and integration, the business unit about day-to-day usability. If you only talk to one person, you leave it to them to convince everyone else.
What slows multithreading down in practice
- Nobody knows exactly who's in the buying center.
- There's no fitting material for the second and third role.
- There's no time to prepare separate outreach for each role.
- The CRM shows contacts, but not which role is missing.
How agents help
An enablement agent looks at every open deal: which roles are already in the conversation, which ones are typically missing at this stage? It suggests specific people where they can be found publicly and prepares an opener per role: a short text, a fitting document, a question sales can ask.
Before important meetings it creates a briefing: what has happened since the last conversation, which objections to expect, which reference fits?
Agents don't send anything to customers here. They make sales faster and better prepared – the relationship stays with a human.
What it takes
A role logic for the buying center, maintained deal stages in the CRM and a collection of material that works per role: business case, security information, references, implementation plan. If the material is missing, that's the first gap the agent makes visible – and often the biggest lever.
A simple start
Take your ten largest open deals and write down next to each which roles you know. Where there's only one name, the risk is highest. That's exactly where the agent starts.
