Content for AI answers: how B2B buyers research today
Part of the research that used to run through a search engine and ten blog posts now happens in a single chat. The buyer gets a summary – and a short list of vendors. If you're not on it, you don't get compared.

What has changed
B2B buyers increasingly ask their questions directly to an AI assistant: what approaches exist for account-based marketing in mid-sized companies? What does that cost? Who does it in Austria? The answer is a synthesis of many sources – and often a short list of vendors.
For inbound marketing, that means the question is no longer just where you rank in search, but whether your content flows into those answers as a reliable source.
What makes content citable
- Clarity: one page, one question, a clear answer in the first paragraph.
- Concreteness: workflows, timeframes, prerequisites, limits – instead of superlatives.
- Structure: clean headings, lists, FAQ sections, structured data.
- Consistency: the same positioning on the website, LinkedIn and profiles, so models get a coherent picture.
- Machine-readable summary: for example an llms.txt that explains in a few lines what you offer.
There's no guarantee of being named in AI answers. But there is content that makes it easy for models – and content that makes it hard.
Where agents help
A content agent regularly checks which questions your audience asks and which of them your website doesn't clearly answer today. It proposes topics, drafts sections based on your positioning and flags outdated statements. A second agent can check how AI assistants answer typical questions from your market and derive gaps from that.
Publishing happens after your go – content with external effect is always a single go.
What you can do today
Write down the ten questions prospects ask most often in first calls. Check whether your website answers each one clearly in a single paragraph. Where it doesn't, that's your first content plan – and the best input for AI answers at the same time.
Where do you stand?
The agentic readiness check shows in 3 minutes how ready your marketing is for agents – and which gaps to close first.
